The Orthodox Faith Servant/Teacher will join a multi-faceted team including Clergy, Teachers, Sunday School members, youth development coordinators, and parents whose mission in this project is to:
• Create more relevant and impactful programs to support the spiritual and social-emotional development needs of the youth
• Guide, mentor, and enable youth to be active participants and servants in their faith and community
• Connect youth and parents to spiritual resources to support the holistic development of the youth, spiritually, mentally, and culturally
• This is a part-time position (0.25 FTE/10hrs per week) which may require working on some Saturdays and Sundays. In addition the Teacher will support a program that is planned for youth during one week day (one evening)
• The Teacher will report to the Evangelism and Education Department within the Parish Council.

Job Description
• Responsible for planning and executing the English Service program (including: Embedding English in Qidase, creating a monthly 18+ English Gubae, and developing English Courses), and will closely work with the Sunday School on the Weekday Faith Education Program
• Ensures the youth are well-informed about church events and services by working with the Parish Council’s PR
• Accountable for excellent youth participation in the events supported by the English Service and provide the youth 1:1 support as needed
• Liaison/bridge between the clergy and the youth

Job Requirements
• Fundamental knowledge of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, faith, doctrines, cannons, and orders
• English language proficiency (written and verbal)
• Cultural and linguistic (English) competency that enables the Teacher to connect with the youth
• Closely collaborate with Clergy
• Baptized Orthodox Tewahedo Christian
